I do think you can get more out of thinking of the other bloggers in your niche as potential allies rather than as competition to be bested (or enemies). People will read more than one blog in any given niche. As long as you find a way to differentiate yourself and have something original to say, you can build your audience. Most folks who make big money on product launches do so because of the you-scratch-my-back-I'll-scratch-yours (there's my saying to contribute, hah) relationships they've built with others.
