Look Ma, No FTP via OneClick

I am proud of using WordPress and I love it. One of the reason is that due to its popularity, there are many third-party plugins worth developing that serve to simplify and extend the use of WordPress. I can say much about other blogging platforms but for WordPress, I stuck on you.

If there is one plugin that really simplify the use of WordPress is Anirudh Sanjeev’s OneClick. As the name implies, you could download and install any themes and plugins without the need to use any FTP software and using the combo OneClick’s Firefox Add-on, it is all easily done with just one click. (Without the Firefox extension, you actually need 2 clicks. One to download from the plugin site and the other to upload via OneClick)

My first hand experience with OneClick is without any problem. Simplify it does indeed especially for someone like me who like to play around with different plugins. Thanks!

What I think

IMHO downloading the plugin is the easy part for non-techie, cmod-ing enabling folders write permission is the scary part, I hope the developer will find a way to automate the process for those who aren’t familiar that kind of cmod configuration. Surely something can be done, right?

On the other hand, wouldn’t it be better if the plugin is automatically activated so that it truly justify its name as OneClick?

For full instruction (I suggest you read it carefully) please refer to the developer’s site. All in all this plugin is worth a download.

Did you miss any of these?
