How To Redirect Your RSS Feed To FeedBurner
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or via Email. Thanks for visiting!
On the last article I’ve showed you How to burn your RSS feed using FeedBurner. I hope you have fun while ‘burning’ your feed as today I will guide you with another simple tip on How to redirect your RSS feed to FeedBurner with the use of a nifty plugin. Let the fun continue..
Why do you need to redirect your RSS feed?

Besides making it easier for your readers to subscribe to your blog using RSS, FeedBurner helps you to analyze your subscribers e.g. number of subscribers, and which feed reader they use. As you may have known it that most of your readers will follow you and receive your posts by subscribing to your RSS using their feed readers e.g. Google Reader, Bloglines, NetVibes, just to name a few.
The problem is unless you redirect all your blog feed to Feedburner you won’t get an accurate picture of the number of readers that subscribe to your blog using a feed reader because some of your readers will be subscribing using your blog feed directly, meaning they subscribe to your blog feed i.e http://thoushallblog.com/feed instead of FeedBurner URL i.e. http://feeds.feedburner.com/thoushallblog. Got it?
How do you need to redirect your RSS feed?
The simplest thing to do it, as in most cases, would be to install a plugin called FD FeedBurner Plugin. It is small yet useful plugin which will redirect your blog feed and optionally the comments feed to FeedBurner.
It does this seamlessly without the need to modify templates, setup new hidden feeds, modify .htaccess files, or asking users to migrate to a new feed. Simply said, all existing feeds become Feedburner feeds seamlessly and transparently for all users.
You just need tell the plugin what your Feedburner feed URL is and you’re done.
Installation
1. Download and upload the fdfeedburner.php into wp-content/plugins
2. Next activate it from your Dasboard > Plugins
3. Click on the FeedBurner Configuration and enter your FeedBurner URL
Once you enter the URL your feeds will be redirected automatically and you do not need to take any further action. Please do note that your feeds may not appear to redirect to FeedBurner until you have created a new post.
I hope it all makes sense here. Oh ya, please don’t forget to subscribe to your own feed to check if everything has been done right.
PS: If you have redirected your feed using another alternative method, perhaps the easier method, please do share with us here. I’m more than willing to learn. Thank you.

I was slightly late to put this subscription option in my blog. Now, it’s there :). I’m using my widget option (Text widget) to put Feedburner subscribe codes.

@Mert: Yes, I have done the necessary step to sign up but apart from the welcome email, I’m yet to receive anything. What exactly do I need to do?
@Aizal: I can see that you have your email subscription option up on your blog right now. You’ll be surprised that many will choose to subscribe thru email than using RSS. Good luck, buddy.
