As we all know it, one of the best source of traffic is by commenting on other blogs. Not only commenting keeps you engaged in the conversation, more importantly it helps you to get noticed which is important when your blog is fresh.
Now the thing is, how do you keep track of which blogs you have left your comments? I’m sure there are times when you don’t even remember that you have left the comment in the first place unless you are subscribed to the blog. Have you ever been in that situation?
Unless the blog you are commenting gives you the option to subscribe to the comment, you need to manually remember or bookmark the site which is kind of time-consuming and not so user-friendly. Don’t you think so?
Here comes ‘Subscribe to Comments’ – the Solution
Subscribe to Comments is a win-win plugin for both the blog owner and the commentators. From the blog owner’s perspective, it allows the commentators to come back and stay engaged in the conversation whilst it provides the mean for the commentators to keep track of the comments and their responses, if any, through email notification when subscribed.
It is a must-have basic tool for any blogs and yet time and again, I see many blogs that doesn’t give me the option to do just that. Sadly but true, I do have the tendency to refrain from commenting in such blogs as I don’t want to just leave one comment and forget about it all together. It happens to me all the time.
Therefore, if you are yet to implement Subscribe to Comments on your blog, how would expect to keep your commentators coming back to your blog for more? Think about it. After all, the success of any blog depends largely on the returning visitors to account for much of the traffic.
What’s your opinion on this? How do you keep track of those blogs you have commented when the plugin is not in place?

What’s up Yan! I was just thinking about this about hmmm… 45 seconds ago. I wish I had a way to streamline it. It get s a bit hectic when I’ve got so many things going on at once… I HATE the idea of missing a response.
If someone takes the time to write on my blog… and it’s useful or informative… I try and make every effort to extend the courtesy. It’s simply good business.
So… if you figure out a solution, be sure to share it with us! I’d love to find a better way… blogging is going to get my butt fired in short order if I can’t get my act together… :-)

There you are, PB. I’m glad you to take the time to drop by despite your busy schedule. It has been nice being part of the discussion on your blog. So you keep doing what you are good at and I’ll stick around.
You know what, I have added you to my worthy link a while ago just so others will get to taste your tasty biscuits as well.
Good blog entry Yan.
Commenting on blogs and forgetting about them is something I’ve done a few times. The plugin you mentioned is a great idea (and works well on your site for example.)
I wonder however if there is a plugin for FireFox somewhere that lets you bookmark or tags sites that you’ve commented on and stores a feed of responses etc.?
@ Yan: Of course I’m going to take the time to come and visit! I haven’t slept in three days but I’m still trying to get things all ironed out and on a normal schedule.
I just noticed the “Worthy Link” so thank you! I would have thanked you prior to this, but it didn’t trackback in my admin panel… I guess when you get indexed again it’ll show!
Make sure you come check out today’s giveaway… just cause we’re cool like that over at The Biscuit! :-)

Great to see you again, David. How’s life been for you? It hasn’t been good for me as Google drops my SERP recently. I’m beginning to wonder if it is because of the DoFollow thing I have on this blog. I’m still clueless at the moment. This blog is used to be in the top 5 for keywords, “Blog for Beginners” but now it is nowhere to be seen even in the last 100 results. Sad but it did happen…
With regard to the Firefox plugin, there is none I have come to know of. If you do come across something like that, please do share with us, will you?
@PB: OMG 3 days? What have you been up to? Just a piece of advise, if I may, don’t compromise your health for the sake of “getting things ironed out”.
Gosh, you are still awake doing that giveaway post. It’s 4AM, my friend.
Yep, still up but now it’s almost 5…LOL…there’s work to be done!

Yes, I agree.
I had used it earlier. This is a nice plugin, specially if you are a beginner.

Hey Silky, thanks for stopping by. I value your comment. What do you say if you get yourself a gravatar?
Yan,
I had been knowing about Gravatar for long, but somehow didn’t upload my photo there.
But your comment prompted me to do that.
So, here I am.
Thanks.

Aha, now I see your cute face. I’m sorry I just think that with gravatar it would easier for me to identify you the next time you come here.
BTW, you have a great blog yourself and a nice domain name too.
As the owner of your blog, it it is your responsibility to reply on your commentators’ comments to keep them coming back. Treat your blog as a forum :p

Hey, I like your domain name.
I agree – It’s so important to keep up with your visitors. It creates a rapport which keeps the traffic coming.
Great plugin… I haven’t been using it on my latest blog, but I may think of doing so soon!
