Banned/Ignored by Comment Love

Who the hell banned my blog from CommentLuv?

Blog for Beginners’s last blog post..no post because http://thoushallblog.com is banned/ignored from CommentLuv

I guess this has got to be the shortest post I have ever made but I’ve been searching high and low for the answer to the above issue. My search on Google doesn’t seem to be going anywhere.

I hope someone in the know or anyone of you guys has ever experienced or encountered similar problem as mine. I’m kind of heart-broken right now as I have lost that comment love into the thin air. Someone is not reciprocating my love anymore.

Any solution to this? Could it be plugin incompatibility or someone with unforeseen power making a fool of me?

Perhaps it may just be a temporary glitch? Perhaps reinstall the plug in?

I was not aware that this could happen. Maybe it is just a temporary glitch. If this is happening then I would like to know who is deciding whom to ban and whom not. This could be quite scary.

@ Yan: It grabs your RSS feed… it’s not controlled by IP address and from what I can tell, it doesn’t use “Akismet” to pre-filter what it displays. I tested it on FiddyP’s test page, and THIS post appears as your last post.

There may be a delay on your server’s load time… which could cause it to not to find your feed within the pre-set time limit it’s given. I noticed that sometimes submitting a comment can take anywhere from a 15 to 45 seconds here. Maybe check your load times and or bandwidth usages during certain portions of the day and see if the server is getting bogged down. You can always amp up the bandwidth and disk space if you’re on a reseller account or if not… order a slightly larger package. Hope that this helps. – PB

Well… it says I’m banned too… LOL. Try and delete the plugin from the plugins directory and upload a fresh version.

On another note… sorry for the repeat “Comment Chatter” it seems to be a broad issue. It’s being reported to be failing all over the place. Let me see if I can work up a fix.

Okay last one promise! Insert “[debugon]” within your comments PHP file. It may help. If not, it’s got to do with the fetching server managed by FiddyP… I’m sure he will resolve it shortly. (has luv) (using curl)

@Piss Biscuit – Thanks, PB. It looks like we all have the same problem. Maybe it was just a glitch as what Brian has said.

Regarding about the [debugon], oh god it sounds too foreign to me. I’ll see what happen after a few days. Once again, thanks for your input.

This article was indexed an hour after it was published so if there is a real solution then it would be benefiting the others as previously there was only 2 search results for the keyword “banned/ignored by commentluv”. (has luv)

@Brian – Thanks, buddy. I’ll see what happen after I re-install it.

@sailor – I doubt there is anyone deciding whom to ban and whom not. I’m taking side that that is only temporary glitch. I hope someone will have a real answer to it.

@Hugo Santos – Apparently, it’s fine right now as my last post was parsed when I left my comment on another blog.

I guess it’s just a temporary glitch on the plugin itself.

Hi Yan Bro . This subscription comes after a week i think .

I think the plugin is for wordpress . Is it right ?! Well i have been using some other plug in it shows my own name on the tops and doesn’t give monthly comments but the overall comments made on my blog . Is there any similar plugin for bloggers?

Thank you,

@Asim – Hey, buddy. I’m afraid I don’t understand what you mean actually. Are you referring to the Top Commentator plugin?

By the way, if you are looking for more flexibility and greater expandability, give a thought about transferring your blog to WordPress.

@Andy Bailey – What a pleasant surprise! You really made the effort to come in here and inform me of the glitch.

I really appreciate it. Thanks! Everything is fine now.

Hmmm, that sucks a little bit yeah? I’ve notice that it works on some sites and others it doesn’t. I don’t really know what the reason behind it is, I just usually roll with it.

Thanks for bringing attention to it though.

Hmm, that’s really weird. My first time to hear something like a “plug-in banning”. Have you asked the author of the plug-in?

Yan August 11, 2008 at 11:47 pm

@Lucas & @Normal Joe – Everything is fine now. Andy, the plugin developer has came here and said that it was just a glitch and apologized for it too. This is what I call ‘customer service’ at its best.

Hey Guys,

I just installed commentluv on my blog, and loaded a new post. Then, I started commenting on a few blogs that also have commentluv and it wasn’t getting my feed. However, the “banned/ignored” never showed up on their sites. My “latest” post simply didn’t show up.

I was wiggin’ out trying to figure out what I did wrong in my site’s code in the last 24 hours, but then starting reading some posts like this around.

Is this the same problem?

Jay

@Jay – As what PB has mentioned above, this could be due to your server’s load time. To my knowledge, there is a pre-set time limit of how fast it should parse your feed. Beyond that, nothing will show.

I guess it just happened when your server was overloaded but it should be fine after a while.

Yeah, very strange. I’ve never had that probably before 2 days ago though, that I noticed anyway. We’ll see, I’m going to have to figure it out, because it’s very frustrating. lol

Yan, CommentLuv some time does not parse last post (happen to me quite frequently). Most recent explanation I got was that it has a “wait time” limit, and when a server is busy – it’ll just skip last post. No banning for sure!

Lets see if it’ll parse my last post :-)

Yan August 26, 2008 at 3:09 pm

@Max@Viliat-Blog – Looks like it doesn’t, Max. There is a certain cut-off time…. in my opinion, non-appearance is better than being banned/ignored. Imagine the first-time when you see the word “banned” and you are like “Oh”…
