Ask My Readers #2 – Read At Your Own Risk

by Yan

It’s time for another weekend of “Ask My Readers”. It’s been an amazing week for me on and off the blog.

Technorati Top 10K Blogs

thoushallblog.com hit the 300 subscribers count and made into the top 10K blogs amongst the millions of blogs tracked by Technorati.

technorati

It’s indeed another milestone for this blog that has only been in existence for six months. It’s ever so sweet to hit all the goals that I have set for myself and definitely make my journey into the blogosphere even more meaningful.

All these will never be possible without your continued support – my valued readers. I guess it’s appropriate now for me to say “Thank You”. I’ll make every possible effort to make your time worth while here.

I’d also like to congratulate my new online buddy, Alex from Blogsessive who made it to the top 10K at about the same time. Keep it up, buddy and let’s work toward the top 5K.

Question of the Week

I’m in the midst of working on a little project here so my question of the week would be somewhat related to it and here’s the question

If you have the privilege of donating your monthly online earnings for one month, which charity organization would it be?

I hope you do take the time to answer the above question as your suggestion means a lot to me and the project I’m undertaking right now.

Around the Blogosphere

blogosphere

Before I wrap the week, let me just give you a quick run down of what’s interesting across the blogosphere.

Internet Marketing Top Blogs

Gyutae Park from Winning the Web has just recently created a buzz with the launch of the Internet Marketing Top Blogs which claims to be the ultimate ranked list of the best Internet Marketing blogs in the industry and pretty much is direct competition to 45n5 Top 100.

IM top 100 blogs

It’s the equivalent of 45n5 Top 100 but takes into consideration many other factors such as Feedburner, Alexa, Compete, Technorati, Google PR, Yahoo links, StumbleUpon, delicious, outgoing links, and user votes to accurately rank each blog on the list.

It’s much more competitive to reach the top 100 but it’s the best of its kind if you ask me.

thoushallblog.com which is ranked at 26 at 45n5 Top 100, was debuted at 114 but as more authority blogs are added to the list, its ranking has dropped to 150 at the time this writing.

If your blog is yet to be listed, email Gyutae and tell him Yan sends you over.

Link Building with EzinePress.com

One of my online friends, Brian Hawkins has just launched EzinePress – a site dedicated to providing up to date news and resources that will help ezine publishers run and market their publications.

eZinePress.com will help boost selected publications by highlighting interesting features, spotlighting selected newsletters and linking to interesting articles.

If you have any interesting articles on your archive, why not submit them for review? Link building has never been easier with EzinePress.com

Suzanne Franco – The Next Blogging Idol?

Lastly, don’t forget to support Suzanne Francoself-proclaimed Online Marketing Extraordinaire – in her quest to be the next blogging idol.  She is currently positioned at #11.

Even the elusive John Chow is supporting her. The least you can do is to subscribe to her RSS and help her to be the next blogging idol. Here I wish her all the best and I urge ya to do the same.

Till we meet again…and I love you all.

Happy Sunday

First off, congratulations on reaching the top 10K in Technorati. It’s always a big milestone.

now, If I could donate, I would donate to Global Warming and Poverty in Africa organizations.

Global Warming because I can really experience the difference in weather in Vancouver and also, I went on vacation this year to Taiwan and went sightseeing and if those area’s disappear, it would be a big shame.

Poverty in Africa organizations because i’ve always been shown that they’ve lived a hard life and I have an easy one so I now have a lot of sympathy for them and I want to help them.

Hi Trevor

Thanks for revisiting my site again and leaving a great suggestion. I’ll keep in mind of it.

Global warming is real and I hope citizens of the world is making every possible effort to preserve the depleting ozone layer. Though it’s easier said than done, the first step is to be aware of the problem.

Hi Yan,

Congratulations on the great Technorati Rank. You are running circles around most of us and it’s certainly not luck. You deserve the quick success. The effort you put into your site is obvious and anyone that follows your posts understands your social and marketing skills. Skills that are natural from truly caring about others. When I’m on my favorite blogs reading posts I see your comments more than any other blogger I know. Great job and congratulations.

It’s not a charity organization but I am really fond of the The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Bill & Melinda Gates and Warren Buffett are exceptionally generous with contributions in the Billions worldwide through the foundation. Even though the foundation does not solicit donations I would contribute funds there because I feel they know how to make every dollar count. It may sound silly, but I think it would be cool to start the Brian D Hawkins Foundation some day.

Thank you for the nice plug for EzinePress.com. That was very kind of you and I appreciate it.

First off, congratulations on reaching the top 10K in Technorati. That’s great to hear! It’s always nice to see passion pay off, and breaking into the top 10K is certainly no small feat.

Now that you’re famous in the blogosphere though, any thoughts of writing an article with strategies on how to break into the top 10K? Oh, and not to forget, good luck Yan with the new goal (top 5k). :)

Congrats on the rating. As for the donation question, I would give to “Child’s Play Charity.” It’s run by the creators of Penny Arcade (a webcomic) and gives video games, books, and money to sick children.

I can understand your frustration. We talk about love among us human but ignore the love for any living beings (aka animals).

Our love and care shouldn’t stop at human level, it should go above and beyond human-to-human relationship.

To answer your question “If you have the privilege of donating your monthly online earnings for one month, which charity organization would it be?”
I think it will be a charity for animals. Thet are a lot of charity I feel concerned, but I have a thing for animals and thinks humans doesn’t treat them the way they deserve.

Well done hitting the 300 mark. I just hit the 300 mark on my blog 2 days ago (but since then it has gone down a little bit) as you know these things fluctuate.
I would give my entire online earnings to a charity called Teen Challenge which helps young boys who have gone off the tracks get their lives back together again.
Great question and congratulations again

Hi Yan ~ Congratulation on the 10K and the RSS numbers! That’s awesome!

As for donating to a cause … a long time friend of mine’s son (Spencer) started http://www.teenwithadream.org when he was 14 years old while he was battling cancer (cancer survivor):

Teen with a Dream™ is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit charity founded specifically to enrich the lives of pediatric cancer patients—and the lives of their families—by combating the educational challenges and the effects of social isolation and loneliness during chemotherapy through specialized social, educational, and financial programs. They place laptops in pediatric cancer centers so students may continue a large portion of their education online (just one example of the great things they are doing for kids with cancer).

I can’t tell you how much your support of my quest to be the next Blogging Idol means to me … that’s way too cool of you … and won’t be forgotten … that’s for sure. *huGs* Suzanne

Nice post! I read somewhere that in order for you to make Technorati’s top list, you have to write multiple post (unless you try another method of advertising your blog). Most bloggers secret is to use an automatic blogging post software in which you prewrite the articles, then post and ping every 30 minutes to an hour. Maybe I should do that for more traffic.
