This is one of my new favorite blogs, and I'm hard-pressed to find anything to change other than the number of ads. Our office has a firewall and some form of ad blocking, Firefox has some ad blocking that I don't really use, and I still see around 15 ads on this page. I see one in the corner, one in the post, ten 125x125 banners, a couple larger ones and some Adsense ads that I can't see... You obviously know what you're doing and have a great thing going, so I'm not sure I'm in any position to say... Now I understand. OK, I’m going to write a post to address this issue once those articles in the queue see the daylight but this is really interesting topic to write about.

Long story short, I think it’s very much overrated. A link is still a link irregardless of its origin so I’m going to cover that on my future article.

Till then, buddy. Forget what the “gurus” say, just keep commenting on dofollow blogs.

I would say to invest in some more in terms of branding. Maybe shoot for a favicon that matches the color scheme? The designer in me finds it vexing, haha. That’s my 2 cents.

Hi Yan: I guess I was not too clear on my comment. Let me clarify it here so you can help newbies like me in your future posts. Essentially, I find a lot of blogs on mainstream topics such as real estate, motivation, blogging itself, money making, etc and such blogs seem to be very well optimized by way of search engine rankings etc. New bloggers in such arenas get instant help simply by following all of the advice that you present in this excellent site of yours. However, highly niche topic blogs are also seeking help from experts such as yourself. For example, increasing backlinks from other blogs is great for SEO, however if there are not that many blogs related to the topic you are blogging in, then the search engines do not give as much value to those links. For example, in the thermal spray coatings blog that I own, there is not a single other blog ( believe it or not ) around. How then will blog commenting work? Same is the situation with forums. This is just one question that highly niche topic bloggers might be interested in learning the answers from you. I hope I have clarified my question. Thank you. I do understand your concern as typo error are inevitable while commenting. We are more likely not to proofread our comments.
